Fashion Sketches

As you know I ADORE fashion, and I want to be a fashion designer when I grow up.  Starting this fashion blog was so much fun for me because it is doing all of my favorite things, fashion, talking, and writing.  I also love to sketch and design clothing.  This post is going to be about my sketching and what my designs are about.

This outfit is a jumper with sparkle and a big belt.  You might say that it was finished and the jumper was gray and white, or you could say I have not got to color the jumper yet.  I don't know which one is true i might finish the design later or I might keep it that way.

This design is a dress but i designed it to look like it was a a shirt with a wrap sweater for a bottom. The sweater part of the dress is tied with a orange thin belt.  The shoes are wedges, they have a peep toe.  The wedge part is orange, to match the belt.
This outfit is a low key more comfy outfit.  As you can see the model is wearing converse sneakers, instead of high heels.  The jeans are bell bottom, and the shirt is a fun long sleeve for a cold windy day. This outfit could be worn to a fair or just on a fall day.

Match times two

It feels good to be back and writing blogs!  Earlier this morning i was looking in vouge, and I came across the most wanted coats and bags.  The coats and bags matched, but the coolest thing about them was that the bags and coats wear not designed by the same designers!  I thought to my self "Maybe I should write a blog about it."  My blog today is going to be about matching bags and coats.

The coat is a Rag and Bone Wooster coat, and the clutch is a Tommy Hilfiger Houndstooth clutch.  Even though the have some different colors in them, like the clutch has a blue pattern.  This works because the blue is the same pattern as the check in the coat.

This coat is a Elizabeth and James Colton coat, and the bag is a Fendi Adele bag.  This is a great winter  coat because it will keep you nice and warm but it also has a bright color so it will pop in the dull colors of winter.  The bag match's right along plus you can also wear it as a fun summer bag.

Last but not least this coat is a Brandon Sun geometric dyed mink coat. The bag is a Versace white and black mink fur bag.  Well this coat is going to keep you warm in the winter, and the bag is a perfect match.  Let me tell you one thing you will not get cold wearing this coat and bag!

High Line Fashion

Summer.  The clothing, the shoes, the bags, the fashion.  I think summer is all about the sun, swimming, summer camp, no school.  Every kid thinks that of summer, but thats not only what I think about summer.  I think about the clothing, the shoes, the bags, and the people of summer.
As you know I live in New York City.  I live near the High Line, which is an elevated old railroad with plants growing on the train tracks.  Many people go and see the High Line and walk down it.  Along the way you can get ice cream, buy cool clothing, and you can see amazing buildings.  You can also see the fashion people wear.  I took all of the pictures in this post.

This shirt is so cute.  The yellow is like sunshine.  The black in the shirt does not look like a dark color, because it is mixed with white and it has some gray in it so it lightens up the darkness of the black.

This lady has decided to wear pattern on pattern, with a patterned top and a matching bottom.  Most people would think two patterns in one outfit would be to much, but in this outfit the coloring is the same and the pattern on the pants is so small the outfit looks good.

This baby blue halter dress is just amazing.  I love everything about the dress.  The style of the dress is so unique.  The color is perfect for a hot summer day and the hair up just completes the outfit.

                                            Stay cool,

Trend Report: Isaac Mizrahi

Once again I haven't been writing many blogs lately.  There has been so much going on in fifth grade and I don't have a lot of free time.  With after school activities and homework, time is everything.  This designer I am going to focus on today is known to have bright, colorful, formal and clever clothing designs.  His name is Isaac Mizrahi.  Isaac designs clothing, bedding and even dog collars!

This first piece that Isaac designed is a colorful bright spring time dress.  The cheerful color makes the dress bright and young. Great for the warm weather ahead!
The accessories that are on the model make the style of the dress a little more funky then if it were pearls and more classic jewelry.

Although this dress is similar to the other with the bow on the waist, the neckline has a different cut.  The cut of the neckline makes the dress look like a halter top dress in a way.  The sunglasses make the dress look a little less formal and more funky like the jewelry did on the first dress.

This dress has a unique touch because of the length and the cut of the neck.  This dress is a little more classy then all the others because of the length.  What I noticed about all the dresses is that they all have the bow tied on the waist.
In conclusion, I think that Isaac Mizrahi is an amazing designer and that his dress designs have a classic, fancy, fun, and unique look and feel.  They can be worn for many different events and and depending on how you wear them and what you wear with them you have a different style.

Stay fashionable,

Trend Report: Lindsey Thornburg

Once again i have been on vacation, and i didn't really have time to write a blog.  I may not be writing many blogs in the next few weeks, because of school and big tests are coming up and i don't have a lot of free time.  This has been my first blog in a while, so i am just warning you that it might not be as good as my blogs in the past.  Today i am interested in Lindsey Thornburg.  Her style is a cool, comfy look.  Lindsey uses her colors in a good way because she really makes the colors blend into each other.  he way Lindsey blends darker colors and the lighter colors together is a look most people would think twice about wearing but i personally think that it looks good and looks unique.

This first item of clothing is like a poncho.  To me it looks a lot like a blanket my parents have in their bedroom.  The hood  and sleeves of the poncho are wide and almost look like they are going to slip/fall off.

This next one is the dress that i mentioned in the beginning, the one with lighter and darker colors.  It kind of looks like tye-dye.  And the dress looks like a robe.  This dress also has sleeves that look like they are going to fall/slip off.

This dress is more of a summer dress.  I like it because the knot on the bottom with the extra fabric hanging catches my eye.

This last outfit is a spring one.  It has a mix of different colors.  The bright blue shirt with the black skirt and hat.

Once again i am might not be writing a lot of blogs in the next few weeks, because of tests and school.  I will try my best to write a couple of blog posts.

Nanette Lepore Clothing

After seeing the Nanette Lepore clothing line at JCPenny I thought I have to do a blog on the clothing.  These shirts, dresses, and pants are very spring time and summer clothing.  The bright colors really make the clothing pop.
This sheer orange stylish top looks great with all the pockets and how the shirt buttons up the middle, it's fabulous.  The collar of the shirt makes the shirt look better.

These fabulous striped pants are amazing and are so fun and cool.  The thing that makes the pants look even better is that there are little stars on the fabric, not only stripes.

Next, this dress is a peachy color with white strips.  The red belt with the dress adds color, in a good way.  The nice thing is that the dress is not too long or too short, it is a nice length.

                                                                                                                  So head to JCPenny,

Exercise Clothing

After a day of sight seeing in your own city you are full of ideas.  One of the things I noticed was the fashion up town, it was funny to see how different the style was.  One of the most popular things I saw people wearing was exercise clothing.  When most people think about exercise clothing they think sporty, and they think not very fashionable.  The truth is that some exercise clothing can be sporty, and others can be stylish.
CW- X is a great brand to buy running pants from because they have a good verity of colors and different style pants.  The pants below are CW-X pants.  The color is a raspberry shade, and then from the bottom of the pants the pattern grows out to black.
CW-X - Stabilyx™ 3/4 Tight

Another great brand is Brooks.  They make such cute sweaters.  The sweater's color really pops out, like these.  The colors are great for winter because every thing is gray, and then these are so bright it almost hurts your eyes to look at them!

One last clothing brand that sells great clothing is New Balance.  Their tank tops are so alive, full of patterns.  This tank top is a maroon color and then there are red highlights.  The other tank top is going crazy with patterns.  There is blue and it almost looks tye-dyed with other blues.

Sneakers!

Good Morning! Todays blog is going to be all about sneakers and what they are for.  There are many different types of sneakers and the purpose is different for every single one.
Steve Madden is a well known shoe designer, and has many shoe stores throughout the USA.  Steve Madden mostly makes and sells fancy sneakers on a heel, like this one.
This sneaker is on a wedge.  The fact that it is one color makes the shoe look much better because if there is more then one color in the shoe it will have too much going on.

Another fancy high heel sneaker is the Nike sky high city pack.  These are the coolest high heel sneaker.  Nike has made five different sneakers named after five different big cities.  From left to right, New York, London, Milan, Paris, and last but not least Japan.
Nike Dunk Sky High City Pack

Moving on to another sneaker, this is more of a running sneaker and you might find it a bit more comfy to wear if you are walking around.  The shoe store that is probably the most known sneaker store is Nike.  Their sneakers are like walking on air, and they make fun bright colors that pop.  For example this sneaker's sole really pops out because it is a bright color with a darker color.

This last sneaker type is a more everyday sneaker.  You can probably wear this shoe with all of your outfits.  The Converse store is very popular, as well as their sneakers.  What is very cool about this store is that there is a whole section where you can tell them what design you want on your shoe, and then the will customize the shoe for you.  This design is a black high top.  This is the classic Converse shoe.

As i said on my last post i will try to write more posts on week days.  Thank you for understanding that with school and after school i have very little time to write so i will try to post one post each school week.  Once again that you for understanding.

Fashion at the Oscars

Sorry about the hold up in the blogs, I have been on vacation and, well,  I took a break!  I have heard that my earlier blog post, First Lady Style, the pictures did not download.  I will repost the blog and I hope that the pictures download this time.  If the pictures do not download please let me know in a post.  Thank You.
Let's talk Oscar fashion.  The Oscars were earlier in the week and the red carpet was looking good.  Every actress had their own sense of style.  No dress was the same color, let alone style!  It is always interesting to see all the different designers that are worn and what style and color looks best on each person.  The funny thing is that all the women's dresses are so unique, and then the mens clothing is so similar, they are all wearing a black tux.
This first designer is Dior Haute Couture.  This dress was worn by Jennifer Lawrence.  The dress is more of a creamy pink color and it looks nice with her skin.  Her pearl earrings flatter the dress and the necklace hanging down the back was a show stopper.  Her little silver clutch looks great and adds a funky touch to the dress, but the dress still looks classic.

This next designer is  Giorgio Armani.  He designed Jessica Chastain's dress.  The strapless sparkly dress looks amazing with her skin color the tan color dress with the pale skin looks really nice and the red lipstick and hair put the final touch to the outfit.  It is nice how she doesn't have a necklace on because it would have been too much with the earrings and the bracelet.

Last but certainly not least is a fabulous Alexander McQueen dress, worn by Amanda Seyfried.  The color compliments her.  The neckline is cool and the tear drop slit makes it even cooler!  The pattern on the dress makes the dress pop and the fact that the pattern fades out makes the dress a little funkier.  It is nice that Amanda didn't overdo it with jewelery and that she kept the earrings simple, like the hair style.

Once again sorry about the hold in the blog.  it was had to write with vacation, school, and (sadly) homework.  I plan to write as much on a school night as possible.

                                                                                                                                         Marina

First Lady Style

Happy presidents day!  Today i am going to blog about first ladys and their style.  For starters Michelle Obama is a very stylish lady and here are some of her outfits.
This outfit is very cool with the gold and then the sparkles on the top.  The gold dangling earrings really pull the outfit together.
This amazing outfit Michelle has worn is this black frilly knee length dress.  Her black shoes match the dress with there color.  Her silver hoops look nice with the dress, and make it look a little fancier.  Which is always good!
Moving on to another first lady, Laura Bush.  Laura's favorite color is red and you can see that in the dresses she wears.
In this first dress, on the top there are little flowers in the fabric.  As you travel down the dress it poofs out a little and the flower pattern fades out.
Laura  is rocking that dress and the dogs are rocking their leash's.  The pearls that Laura is wearing really brighten the dress and the dog leash's put the finishing touch to the outfit.
Last but not least, Jackie Kennedy.  She is know for fashion, because her style was very different from the other ladys in the time period.
This outfit is a crazy one, because of the time period it was warn in.  I love the neckline and then how it looks like the bow holds the two pieces of the dress together.
This dress is a peachy color.  The pearl necklace and the white gloves looks good and makes the outfit look a little fancier, which is alway good.  In my opinion the outfit would have looked better if the bag were not the same color as the dress, so you can see it little better.
Over all i think that all the first ladys have had and have amazing style in clothing.  The style has changed over time and it is cool to see how fashion changes over time and what people have to say about it.

Floral and Patterns

When i woke up this morning i felt very floral and hot.  Thats why my post today is going to be all about floral patterns and designs.  I went on the internet and i started to look around and i came across Clements Riberiro, her designs are very floral and full of patterns.  I like her style because she uses many different patterns and many bright colors.

This outfit is a nice one.  It has a nice amount of pattern in it, and the bright colors in the shirt make the outfit bright and happy even though there is a black skirt and shoes.

This outfit really has a lot of patterns and colors in it.  I like the way the shirt and the shoes have the same colors in them but i find that the skirt adds a big amount of pattern into the outfit, and as they say less is more.

I love the way the colors in the top of the dress match with the colors in the bottom of the dress.  The shoes match the bottom of the dress because it is like a plum color and the shoes are black.

This outfit is unique because not many people would wear a floral knee length dress with a stripped long sleeve shirt over it.  The red shoes pull the outfit together with the red in them.

I like this outfit because it is not too crazy but it is not too simple it is the right amount of pattern and color.  The shoes and the skirt look good together because the skirt has the baby blue and the shoes have silver, in my opinion baby blue and silver look good together.

Over all i have noticed that many of Clements Riberiro designs have pattern and or florals in them i like the way she does that in some outfits, but in others i find it too much.
                                                                                                                    stay patterned and floral,
                                                                                                                            Marina

My Style In Fashion

Hey i am just a kid in NYC that lives for fashion, but i want other people to hear what i have to say about it... So i started a blog.  As i said i am just a kid so this blog is going to be all about fashion, from a kids point of view.
Lets talk fashion week, all the fashion shows and amazing clothing!  I have noticed that sun glasses can be very stylish.  Talking about sun glasses and fashion shows, i just went to a fashion show earlier in the week, and there i noticed the fashion world i had never seen before!
The Karen Walker fashion show was amazing and the colors she used really worked well, with the stylish sun glasses her models were wearing.

New York Fashion Week A/W 2013: Karen Walker
The over sized cream colored coat looks nice with bright pants, it also looks nice with the dark green warm sweeter because it adds color into the outfit.
New York Fashion Week A/W 2013: Karen Walker
This is a nice look with the  floral shirt and the light cream colored pant and blazer.  The cream colored shoes really work well with the peachy colored clutch.
New York Fashion Week A/W 2013: Karen Walker
The dark green is a great color for winter and fall because it is not too bright but then it is not too dark like black.  It matches well with the orange and black shoes, and the black and white plaid top.

New York Fashion Week A/W 2013: Karen Walker
So this outfit works because the orange rose with the cream colored coat really brings out the color in the shirt.  The plaid skirt adds a nice touch and a bit of pattern to the outfit.
New York Fashion Week A/W 2013: Karen Walker
This outfit is a unique one because not many people would think of wearing a tee-shirt with a pattern and then over it a dress that is plaid.  This outfit has a lot of pattern and exicitment in it.
New York Fashion Week A/W 2013: Karen Walker
This outfit is a really crazy one even though it doesn't really have any pattern in it.  The part that makes the outfit crazy is that the shoes are two different colors.  I like the fact that the coat is nice and big.  If it is a really cold day outside this coat will keep you warm and fashionable.
New York Fashion Week A/W 2013: Karen Walker
Well this is one bright and full of pattern outfit.  The orange leather coat really goes with the scarf and the cat eye sunglasses.  The skirt and the scarf in my opinion don't really go together because of their patterns.
These are some of the Karen Walker fall/winter 2013 designs.
